The Milan Design Week 2019 – a worldwide known showcase
Born more than 50 years ago where designers from different countries expose their innovative ideas at Milan Design week. It is an event that involve the whole city with exhibitions, parties, cocktails, events and more are every year organised and costumized to be updated with the evolution in the design sector.
How does it works
Three are the categories of the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, based on the type of style. The first one is Classic, which draws on the value of traditon and highlight craftman skills in the art of making forniture. The second one is Design products very innovative and functional. Last but not least is category is xLux devoted to luxury re-read in a contemporary key.
This year the main exhibition will be from the 9 till the 14th of April at Rho Fiera. Very helpfull for all the events around the city is the website www.salonedelmobile.it. Here you can check the details for every exhibition, party… known as Fuori Salone.
Very special at Milan Design week 2019 is also the Salone Satellite dedicated to young designers under 35 and even for this exhibition an international jury will decide which is the best product for 2019.
Like every year also the last one has been extemely succesfull and the amount of people in Milan during the Design Week was higer then the previous.
Where to sleep during Milan Design Week?
Milan is just 1 hour and a half by car from Bellagio and this can be a great solution to spend a couple of days on lake Como instead that in the city as its very crowded and expensive. Milan can be reach also very easily by train from Varenna (10 minutes by ferry from Bellagio).
